THE «HOMELAND» ARCHETYPE IN ALASH LITERATURE AND THE TRANSFORMATION OF NATIONAL HISTORICAL CONSCIOUSNESS

Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive examination of the transformation of the «Homeland» archetype within the framework of national historical consciousness as represented in Kazakh literature.The article conceptualizes «Homeland» as a three-component structural model grounded in spatial anthropology associated with C. G. Jung’s «Mother» archetype and the theoretical principles of the Turkic mythopoetic tradition.By tracing the representations of the homeland motif across different periods of pre-twentieth-century literature, the study explores the reactivation of the national collective unconscious within individual consciousness. Employing archetypal, mythopoetic, and discursive analytical methods, the research undertakes a systematic examination of the semiotic, mythological, and psychological layers of poetic texts, thereby identifying the mechanisms of transformation of national historical consciousness during its modernization.Analyzing the transformation of the «Homeland» archetype in Alash literature offers new opportunities for expanding the scope of archetypal theory within contemporary literary studies and for developing significant scholarly insights concerning its application in literary texts.
