Abstract

The article presents a semiotic analysis of Dyusenbek Nakipov's novel Circle of Ashes, highlighting the author's use of lexical and syntactic tools to create polysemantic, vivid imagery. It explores compound words and verbal serial constructions that convey the complexity of events and the depth of characters' inner worlds. Special attention is given to hyphenated constructions, which, within the linguistic contexts of Kazakh and Russian, reveal the transcultural aspects of Nakipov’s thinking. The study also examines how Kazakh grammatical and lexical structures influence his style, reinforcing his transcultural approach to depicting reality. Methods such as component, content, and semiotic analysis help uncover the novel’s artistic depth and its cultural-philosophical meanings. This article is valuable for scholars exploring Russian-Kazakh literary interactions and those interested in semiotic literary analysis. It will also be useful for readers seeking a deeper understanding of how language and structure shape meaning in multilingual literature.
