The article examines the linguistic and cultural type of "doctor" based on the material of works of Russian literature of the XIX-XX centuries, which include the works of A.P. Chekhov («Попрыгунья», «Хирургия», «Палата №6», «Ионыч», «Случай из практики», «Цветы запоздалые» etc.), M.A. Bulgakov («Записки юного врача», «Собачье сердце»), V.V. Veresaev («Без дороги», «Записки врача»), I.S. Turgenev («Отцы и дети»), B. Pasternak ("Доктор Живаго"). The purpose of the work is to determine the conceptual, figurative-perceptual and value characteristics of the linguocultural type "doctor", taking into account the peculiarities of the individual author's worldview. The conceptual characteristic of the linguocultural type "doctor" has a number of dominant and optional features. When compiling the passport of the linguistic and cultural type proposed by O.A. Dmitrieva, it becomes clear that the doctor has a set of not only general cultural characteristics accepted in everyday consciousness, but also combines the features of the author's perception. Positive and negative concepts play a special role in the analysis of the value component of the linguistic and cultural type.
