Abstract

The article examines the concept of love in the story of A.I. Kuprin "Olesya", where this feeling acts as a central element of the artistic narrative. Particular attention is paid to the nature and development of relationships between the main characters, belonging to different social and cultural strata. Love is revealed as a multifaceted, complex and contradictory phenomenon, capable of overcoming social restrictions, but at the same time vulnerable to internal doubts and external obstacles. Through the system of artistic images and the symbolism of nature, a space of emotional and spiritual closeness is formed that goes beyond traditional norms. The study uses contextual, semantic and ideological-thematic approaches, which allows us to identify deep semantic levels of the author's concept of love. The story reflects not only the personal experiences of the heroes, but also philosophical issues of freedom, choice and loneliness, revealing the tragic nature of human
