The article reveals the cognitive and aesthetic features of modern literature about the Great Patriotic War: an appeal to elements of non-classical aesthetics, to allegorical genre forms. Using the example of the novel by the Belarusian writer A Matvienko “The Demon contrary the Luftwaffe”, the author of the article explores the methods of artistic world modeling, subjective and object organization, the variety of techniques of mythological quotation in current military prose, and identifies social and cultural implications. The novel was created in the stylistic integration of realism - postmodernism, which, according to the author of the article, embodies the promising vector of development of literature about the Great Patriotic War, since it allows non-military generations to comprehend the tragic events of the past and preserve historical memory.
